Tonight, the club was back in full swing after a brief hiatus for contests. We had an action packed evening with four speakers: Melissa Rouseau, Susan Ryan, Matt Burkhardt, and Bill Moran. Melissa gave a very engaging Ice Breaker. She was charismatic and charmed everyone with her smile. Her account of the dog attack she experienced as a young child was chilling. Susan spoke of her family's trip to Paris and how proud she was of her son for communicating so well in French which he has been studying since grammar school. Matt gave a very detailed account of a ship accident. He was thorough and definitely mastered his subject. Bill taught us all how important it is to sell by following the SPIN theory. Unfortunately though, since Matt and Bill went over time, we couldn't vote on Best Speaker.
All of the Evaluators gave excellent feedback. Great job to Bob Kulungian, Nancy Rocks, Joe Young, and Mitesh Kipedia. Congratulations to Joe for being chosen Best Evaluator. You were up against some really excellent Evaluators.
Table Topics was headed by Matt Burkhardt. He took everyone's name and turned it into an anagram. From that, everyone had to say whether the anagram fit them or not. Some were extremely challenging. Our talented Toastmasters handled it very well. Some choose to dodge the question and just speak, which is always an option.
Congratulations again to Melissa for a very well-written Thought of the Day. It was truly inspirational and a a great way to begin the night. Both Melissa and Matt really put a lot of work and effort into the meeting by performing two roles. Great job. Great meeting... except for the fact that it went past my bedtime!
